It's IVF Transfer Week and All I Want to Do Is Laugh! Can You Help?

I’m back in IVF FET (frozen embryo transfer) week. If you’ve walked this road before, you know it’s the longest short week of your life, followed by the 9 day wait to see if you're pregnant or not. A weird mix of hope, science, and pure nerves. I've had one failed transfer, and two successful ones, and even though this could feel routine by now, I'm all in my feels.
Let’s be honest, IVF doesn’t exactly roll out the red carpet for joy. It’s early alarms, cold stirrups, hormone medications/injections, constant monitoring through bloodwork and ultrasounds, and endless waiting. But I’m leaning into something new this time: laughter.
Yes, laughter. Real belly-laugh, tears-streaming, snort-laughing kind of laughter. Not because I don’t feel the weight of this moment. But because I do and I know joy deserves to sit beside the hard stuff. I also know that laughing is scientifically proven to help the embryo stick.

How Laughter Helps IVF Transfers
Laughter doesn’t just feel good; it physically changes things in your body. It lowers cortisol, boosts endorphins, and gives your nervous system a break from the constant tension of “will this work?”
In fact, some studies have shown that laughter right after embryo transfer can actually improve success rates. (One trial even used clowns. I’m not there yet... but never say never.)
"Current evidence demonstrates that spontaneous laughter is associated with a greater reduction in cortisol levels compared with usual activities, suggesting that laughter could serve as an adjunctive medical therapy to improve well-being" —Use of Laughter Therapy for In Vitro Fertilization: A Systematic Review
It also makes this emotional minefield feel a little less lonely. Humor has a way of unlocking connection when words fall short. Laughing with my husband, my kids, my friends, and my followers reminds me that I’m still me in the middle of all this. Still strong, still soft, still showing up.
Why I Need You to Help Me Laugh
Funny movies are on deck (send me your favorites). Group texts full of GIFs. Jokes from friends. A few reels that make me snort-laugh. I might even try a little laughter yoga if I can get through it without feeling too ridiculous.
I want this space to be light this week—not because the journey isn’t serious, but because laughter is healing, and I believe joy belongs in this process, too.
Help me out—send me your best:
✔️ Jokes
✔️ Funny shows or movies
✔️ Silly stories
✔️ TikToks that made you lose it
Let’s fill this week with good energy and good laughs. I’ll share what’s making me laugh in stories, and maybe—just maybe—we’ll all help give Baby Legg the best chance to stick.
